In October of 2017, the FCCLA officers attended the Ignite! Conference in Springfield. Here, they met new friends, developed leadership qualities, and learned a new skill: proper etiquette. All of the guest at Ignite! sat down to a catered, three course meal to learn the correct table etiquette. The GC FCCLA officers were inspired, so they decided to put on one of their own!
With help from the school cooks, and administration, the whole high school, separated into two groups, that of upper classmen and lower classmen, were invited to attend a three course meal to learn etiquette. The officers and several volunteers from the FACS Leadership class volunteered for two days as servers to help put the dinner on. Etiquette is a strong skill to have. Whether you're sitting down to a dinner interview, or going on a date, having proper etiquette never looks bad. The dinner was excellent! The teens of Gallatin County now know which fork to use, and how to be properly excused from an awkward conversation at a family dinner. |
